AzaSite® (azithromycin ophthalmic solution) 1% is indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis (pinkeye) in adults and children 1 year of age and older.
Recommended dosing for AzaSite® is 1 drop twice a day for 2 days, followed by 1 drop once a day for the next 5 days, for a total of 9 drops per infected eye.
Important Safety Information
For use as an eyedrop only. In clinical trials, the most common side effect was eye irritation, which occurred in 1% to 2% of patients. Other side effects (occurring in <1% of patients) were burning, stinging, and eye irritation upon instillation; skin irritation or rash; corneal erosion; dry eye; altered taste; nasal congestion; eye discharge; inflammation of the cornea; and sinus infection.
